Otto Severene Chellberg
In 1882, Otto Severene Chellberg emigrated to the U.S. to Minnesota, by 1886 in St. Paul. In 1887, he changed his last name from Kjellberg to Chellberg. He was primarily employed in the building trade industry as a stone cutter, with a specialty in slate roofs, and was later employed in Chicago as an electrician and a locksmith. In 1890, Otto removed to 5726 Atlantic, in Chicago, still employed as a stonecutter. About 1895 he was sitting inebriated on a curb, and some young ladies passed by him that were singing hymns, and he followed them back to a Raven exclusive assembly and there he was saved and accepted into fellowship. In 1896, he was living at 1177 W. Adams, employed as an electrician. 1897-1899, he lived at 212 S. Washtenaw Ave., employed as a locksmith. In 1900, he had removed to 1068 W. Jackson Blvd., still employed as a locksmith. Then in 1901, at 217 S. Campbell Ave., returning as a stonecutter. In 1909 he became a naturalized citizen, while residing in Berwyn, IL. By 1940, he was residing in Corpus Christi, Texas, and died in 1952 in San Antonio.
In 1956, Otto's great-grandson Bill started a printing business in Chicago, presently managed by a son, and in the 1980's a branch developed known as Bibles, etc. printing out-of-print PB writings, and in 2022 was given to a younger brother in the Lord to continue.
Bill's parents were William Henry Chellburg (b. 1911 Sioux City, IA - d. 1988 Olmsted, MN) & Irene Gertrude Bailey (b. 1910 St. Paul, IN - 2000 Wheaton, IL), married in 1930 @ Indiana. Bill has a sister, Donna Sue Chellberg (b. 1939 Chicago) who married Lloyd Ralph Paskewitz (b. 1937 Redwood, MN), son of Paul Paskewitz (b. 1901 Canada - d. 1991 Hennepin Co., MN) & Bertha Louise Schwelm Paskewitz (b. 1911 Redwood Co., MN - d. 1998 Edina, Hennepin, MN).
Irene's parents were James William Bailey (b. 1875 Noble, Shelby, IN - d. 1925 St. Paul, MN) & Ida Louise Stickford Bailey (b. 1874 Ripley Co., IN - d. 1961 IN). James's parents were Absalom Bailey (b. 1844 IN - d. 1904 St. Paul, Decatur, IN) & Christiana A. Catherine "Cassie" Lefler Bailey (b. 1849 Adams, Decatur, IN - d. 1894 St. Paul, Decatur, IN)
William Chellberg Sr.'s parents were Alfred Sidney Chellberg (b. 1886 MN) & Elizabeth Hass Chellberg (b. 1891 IL). Alfred's parents were Otto Severene Chellberg (b. 1862 Sweden - d. 1952 San Antonio, Bexar, TX) & Caroline Elizabeth Johansdotter Chellberg (b. 1864 Askum, Göteborg och Bohus (Västra Götaland), Sweden, emig. 1885). Caroline's parents were Johan Didrik Börjesson (b. 1837 Sweden - d. 1910 Malmön, Göteborg och Bohus (Västra Götaland), Sweden) & Anna Britta Andersdotter (b. 1838 Sweden - d. 1910 Malmön, Göteborg och Bohus (Västra Götaland), Sweden. Otto's father was Otto C. Johanas Kjellberg.
