Philip De Courcy
Philip De Courcy is the senior pastor of Kindred Community Church in Anaheim, California, and speaker on the daily radio program, "Know the Truth".
He was born in North Belfast, Ireland, came to Christ at the age of 16. Friends became involved in terrorist activities, he became a part-time reserve officer in the Royal Ulster Constabulary in North Belfast.
Began primary career as an engineer in the aircraft industry when he sensed God's calling to enter the Irish Baptist College for ministry training. While there, he met his wife June, who was from Glasgow, Scotland, and was studying at the Whitfield College of the Bible in Northern Ireland. They were married in Scotland in 1987.
After graduating, Philip spent six years pastoring Carr Baptist Church in Lisburn, a suburb of Belfast. In 1994, with the encouragement of his friend John Fullerton MacArthur, Jr., he enrolled at Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, California, and remains serving on the Board of Directors, to this day.
Shepherded churches in Southern California and central Ohio before relocating to Anaheim, California to start his current ministry in 2007 as senior pastor at Kindred Community Church.
The daily radio broadcast, Know the Truth, was launched in March 2010, on three local radio stations in Southern California. The program features Philip's expository bible teaching, and is hosted by broadcast veteran Wayne Shepherd.
Philip and June have three grown daughters, and one son-in-law.
Brethren connection
Phillip's wife June was raised among the KLC Exclusive Brethren, and Philip attended some of their Bible studies for a time period.
