J.O. Brown LOI 1934-11

J.O. Brown, Alpena Pass, Ark.:

"Your kind letter reached me yesterday with fellowship from the Pioneer Fund of “Letters of Interest from the Home Field.” Many thanks in the worthy name of our Lord Jesus. It is called a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God, and fruit that will abound to your account.

We passed through Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Eastern Colorado and Kansas visiting assemblies, also a number of isolated Christians, seeking to give help as the Lord directed as well as preaching the gospel. We saw a number of souls saved and the Lord’s own encouraged.

We are now holding meetings five miles out of Alpena. A young brother, Stanley Ledyard, from Sturgis, Michigan, is assisting in the meetings. Bro. McCullagh is with the Petersons at Harrison. As there are four of us to share the work, we are able to cover more territory and are seeking to get the gospel into the isolated places.

Our two young sisters, Florence and Gertrude King, nobly held the fort while we were gone. It was a trying summer, but they sought to honor the Lord in all their ways and we thank the Lord for them. We were pleased to find the Sunday School increased in number and interest and the work among the women is growing."
