Sadie Atwill Holt Elder
From March 1964 Letters of Interest: Mrs. Sadie Elder of Louisville, Ky., Called Home:
"Mrs. Sadie A. Elder of Louisville, Ky., went to be with the Lord on Jan. 6, 1964 in her 74th year, after an illness of several years. She was saved over 50 years ago in Matoaca, Va., under the preaching of Mr. Ben Bradford and Mr. Tom Dempsey. With her husband and family she moved to Louisville in 1931, where she was one of the first to gather with the assembly that later began to meet in Karl Pfaff's home.
She bore a faithful testimony for Christ, was a godly example of a loving wife and mother and had a gracious spirit that endeared her to many. Mr. F.W. Schwartz, of Detroit, brought a comforting message at the funeral, concluding with a kind invitation to the unsaved. The body was laid to rest in Resthaven Memorial Park, Louisville. Mrs. Elder leaves, besides a devoted husband, a daughter, three sons, five sisters and eight grandchildren.
The assembly that the Elder family co-founded with Karl Pfaff in 1931 is Louisville Bible Fellowship, KY, and it might be notable that Karl was 21 when he founded this meeting, and not a native of the area.
