Samuel Greer LOI 1934-11

Samuel Greer, Los Angeles, California:

"Your second letter was received by me on the 10th with enclosed gift. I assure you that I appreciate your kindness and expression of fellowship in His honourable and glorious work and wish to thank you in the peerless name of our adorable Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Such sacrifices are acceptable and well pleasing unto God ; also fruit that will be credited to your account in heaven. Phil. 4:17-18.

Your gift was a timely one and it was received the same day Brother John Hunt and I were leaving for Arizona and New Mexico, then on into Texas. There is only one small assembly in Arizona and one small weak company in New Mexico. There is great need for God-sent laborers in both of these states. We called to see an isolated family of Christians at Somerton, Ariz. about midway between Los Angeles and Phoenix.

We are going to try a few meetings in a women’s clubhouse in Gadsden. All churches have moved out of this town owing to the depression. We hope God will move upon the people and bring them out under the sound of the Word. Pray for us. Brother Ferguson, who lives here, has started a Sunday School, also preaches in the transient camp where about 700 men are located.

You have entered upon a great work, seeing that those who carry the gospel into> new fields are encouraged to do so by your prayers and practical fellowship with them. Trust the Lord will abundantly bless you and your associates and enable you to continue in this good work until He comes."
