L'Assemblée Chrétienne de Duvernay, Laval, Greater Montreal, Southcentral Québec, Canada, was a French open brethren assembly begun in 1971 and active through 1988.
This assembly, known as La Grande Maison, was the result of Bill Wolitarsky and his wife Karen who had come from California to Québec, arriving in 19??. After several years at the Assemblée chrétienne Maranatha in Montréal, in 1969 the Wolitarskys moved to Laval in order to establish an assembly in that area of the island. This was the beginning of a new movement among Québec's francophone assemblies, one which would however not endure beyond a couple of two decades.Like king David, it apparently "served its generation and then fell on sleep."
