* T&T 1950-8: "Brother James McCullough was taken with appendix trouble and was rushed to the hospital in Augusta, Maine, where he was operated on. We are glad to say that he is now out of the hospital and is doing well."
* LOI 1950-8: "Br. McCullough was delayed starting tent meetings north of Augusta, Maine, because of illness. He was operated on for appendicitis and was in the hospital for over a week. We understand he is recovering nicely."* LOI 1951-11: J. McCullough (Stratford, Conn.: "We are happy to report an interesting summer of good meetings in the tent in Maine. A few professed faith in Christ and we had the joy of baptizing three others in a river. These have been received into the little assembly near Augusta. We have had our tent for five successive seasons in Maine and while at times the work has been uphill and discouraging, yet we have reason to thank God for all that has been accomplished there in recent years. We had the joy of seeing a new testimony to the Name of the Lord raised up in those parts last year. The believers go on nicely. They need help and we have sought to be with them as much as possible during the tent meetings. I am hoping (D.V.) to return there soon for more meetings."
* T&T 1954-9: Rose Valley, P.E.I.: "A.W. Joyce had a happy visit to the assemblies here, and in Rose Valley in a portable hall with A. Ramsay and R. Harris when several professed to be saved. A visit of brother Williams of Venezuela was much enjoyed. He and A.W. Joyce called at Moncton and also had a good visit at Augusta, Maine, on the way back to Ontario. Since then brethren Harris and Ramsay have seen further blessing in the Gospel."
* T&T 1956-8: Augusta, Maine: "An excellent conference was reported. After the conference, brother James McCullough left for Madison, Maine, and, while there, suffered a heart attack and is now in the hospital in Skowhegan, Maine, where he will be for at least two weeks, with a period of rest following. Pray for our brother who for many years has faithfully preached the Word to saint and sinner. He had intended joining his son in tent work in Hudson, N.H., a new field."
