He and his wife Ruth (Batterson) Chambers also served in leadership in the 1980's at the [[Longport Gospel Hall Home, NJ|Longport Gospel Hall Home]] (near Atlantic City), NJ, he also served serving as a treasurer there and officiated some of the funeral services of residents.
