Waco Bible Chapel began in the late 1940s in the home of John and Judy Lane on Mockingbird Lane. Within a few years, the Christians were able to buy property and build a chapel at 3300 N. 22nd Street, at which time they took their name. Several visiting preachers assisted in the earliest days of the assembly in the late 1940's and early 1950's.
Leaders have been John Lane, [[Howard Arthur KohrmannnKohrmann, Sr.|Howard Kohrmann]], John Fullerton, Don Welborn, and Glenn Lightfoot. In its earlier years, Waco Bible Chapel commended several to the Lord’s work, including Don Welborn to ministry in the U.S. They also operated a community food bank, "Loaves & Fishes of Waco" at the chapel on Tuesdays and Fridays 10am to 12pm. In the 1990's, the meeting had about 15 adults in fellowship. The assembly closed in 2014.
