In 1930, Frank lived in Santa Barbara with his parents, employed as a commercial artist. In 1950 in Santa Barbara he owned a medical lab where Beryl worked. Parents: George P. Birtwhistle (b. 1862 Chester, Cheshire, Eng. - d. 1931 Ladner, B.C.) & Mary Edith Todhunter Birtwhistle (b. 1866 Liverpool, Eng. - d. 1935 Woodland, Yolo, CA). George Birtwhistle was a technical teacher in Los Angeles, then the first teacher at the T.J. Trapp technical school. Frank's brother was George Birtwhistle, Jr. (Winnipeg, MB).  * Amy M. Hugh owned the Nichols Realty Co., "Real Estate and Insurance Counselors" which was located at 155 B, San Mateo. In 1940, he and his wife Phyllis removed to Belmont. Wife (1939): Phyllis Deborah Woodward Nichols (1905-1993 Victoria, B.C.), daughter of Arthur Joseph Woodward (b. 1856 Uckington, Glos., Eng. - d. 1936 Victoria, B.C.) & Adelaide Woodward (b. 1861 Tithe House, Knutsford, Cheshire, Eng. - d. 1944 Victoria, B.C.), who were 1st cousins.
