From 1877-1882In 1853, Alexander resided @ 73 Hughson, Hamilton, and operated the "Hamilton family resided at 295 E& Kneeshaw" drugstore @ 2 West King. There was another Alexander Hamilton the same year employed as a grocer @ 18 & 20 King StWilliam, Hamilton.By 1856, the drugstore was rebranded "Hamilton, Muir & Co.", chemists and operated a drugstore on druggists, located at the corner of King & James thru 1858. In 1856, Alex still resided at the same streetaddress, but removed to West Ave., opp. Rebecca by 1858.
His business partner then was Ebenezer Muir (b. 1832 QC), who resided +1856-1858+ @ 71 Rebecca St., bt. Mary & Nelson. He was baptized in 1833 as a child @ First Baptist Church of Montreal, and remained such thru 1881. By 1871, Muir had returned to Montreal and operated a drugstore there, and converted to Episcopalianism by 1901. Ebenezer's wife's name was Eliza (b. 1834 ON), and they had four children: Evelyn Muir (b. 1854 U.S.), William Ebenezer Muir (b. 1857 Hamilton, ON - d. 1936 Montreal, QC), Mary Louisa Dudley Muir (b. 1860 Hamilton, ON - d. 1936 Montreal, QC) & James Gordon Muir (b. 1864 ON - d. 1913 Boston, MA). From 1877-1882, the Hamilton family resided at 295 E.
