Broadview Avenue Gospel Hall was founded in 1891 as an open brethren assembly, meeting initially at 639 Queen St., E. At some juncture, it was meeting at Queen & Boulton. By 1927, it met at 294 Broadview. But there are claims that it has met at 194 Broadview from 1901 to present. In 1899, what is now [[Danforth Gospel Hall, ON|Danforth Gospel Hall]] hived from it, known initially as East End Gospel Hall, then East Side Gospel Hall & Swanwick Avenue Gospel Hall prior to its present name. The earliest known correspondent was John Clarke who served in 1927.
