Samuel had a variety of occupations. In 1900, he resided with his parents in Highland, Adams, PA and was employed as a teacher. In 1910, he resided with his wife and eldest daughter at 534 Oakland Ave., Southwest Greensburg, and was employed as a clerk in a freight office. In 1920, residing at the same location, he was managing a valve works. By 1930, he resided at 503 Welty St., which is the address listed in the undated assembly address book, and he was employed as a bank teller throughout that time 1930-1950. Interesting to the editor to note that in 1935, Samuel's brother J. In 1881, Charles Bowden was employed as an locomotive engineer.** Sarah Louise Hershey (b. 1909 Greensburg, PA - d. 1984 Asheville, [[North Carolina|NC]]). In 1940, he worked for Youngstown Lamp Works. Wife: Faithe A. Ketterman Hershey (b. 1912 Buckeye Twp., Dickinson Co., KS - d. 2005 Hendersonville, NC), daughter of Samuel Monroe Ketterman (b. 1880 PA) & Jessie Belle Frey Ketterman (1882-1966 Abilene, Dickinson, KS).
