** Emily Jane Byassee Abbey (b. 1862 KY - d. 1914 L.A., CA). Husband: Edward Thomas Abbey (b. 1845 Edgefield, SC - d. 1927 L.A., CA), son of Dr. Daniel Abbey (b. 1818 [[New York|NY]] - d. 1863 St. Louis, MO) & Elizabeth Presley Abbey (b. 1825 SC; m. 1843 Edgefield, Augusta metro, SC). In 1870, Edward was farming near the short-lived mining town of Lostine, Cherokee Co., in the southeastern corner of [[Kansas]]. By 1880, he was farming in Richland, Scott, MO. In 1900, he was serving as a foreman in St. Michael, Madison, MO. In 1910, he was postmaster in Mine La Motte, Madison, MO. After Emily's death in 1914, Edward's 2nd wife was Charity Ann Epperson Elswick-Abbey (b. 1852 Sons Creek, Dade, MO - d. 1933 L.A., CA). With regard to Edward's father, Dr. Abbey: In 1845, he had a business in Edgefield producing saddles and harnesses, at his "old stand, next door to Mr. S.F. Goode's", as per the [https://www.newspapers.com/image/72197874 Edgefield Advertiser]. In 1850, he evidently had a medical practice in Rock Spring (as per [https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/22850/images/dvm_LocHist008450-00175-0?usePUB=true&pId=335 Walker Co. history], near Peavine, Walker Co. (now included in the Chattanooga, TN metro), GA. In 1860, his practice was in Benton, Scott, MO. He enlisted in 1862 as an Assistant Surgeon in the 29th Regt. of the Missouri Infantry, and died of disease, possibly at 1516 Olive St., St. Louis, in the home of [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_von_Phul Henry von Phul], who was the oldest merchant in STL in 1874.

In 1920, George Gundacker was self-employed in Staten Island as a builder. George's father was a maker of boots and shoes, named Henry Gundacker (b. 1831 Geiselberg, Germany - d. 1909 Staten Island, NYC). 2nd wife: Bessieretta Graham Byassee '''+1982-1990+, +2005-2008+''' (b. 1914 VA; 1920 @ Cincinnati, OH; d. 2012 Bardwell, KY), daughter of Albion Tibion Graham (b. 1887 Gallatin Co., KY - d. 1973 Bardwell, KY) & Sina E.
