1930's

1935

  • AA 1935-5: WI: "At the six weeks' gospel meetings held by Mr. F.W. Mehl in Brodhead there were very large audiences and deep interest. Some eighteen men and women, as a result, professed to receive Christ as their Savior and Lord. He desires the prayers of the saints for this work which is but an entering wedge in a very inviting territory."
  • AA 1935-10: WI: "Large audiences, much interest, conversions and the strengthening of the saints resulted from the labors of Messrs. Sheldrake & Mehl at Brodhead. Mr. Mehl hopes to return for meetings especially for those young in the faith."

1936

  • AA 1936-10: WI: "Messrs. Sheldrake and Mehl had the largest audiences yet in Brodhead, interest sustained to the last and God gracious blessed in conversions to Christ."

1937

  • L&L 1937-9: Brodhead, WI: "Wm. King, rural, is the correspondent."

1940's

1943

  • L&L 1943-9: "S. Hamilton was with Stephen Mick in tent three weeks at Hillsboro, WI. Following this he held street meetings in several towns and preached from house to house. One week was spent at Black Earth and a short visit to Brodhead. He and Oliver Smith are now (Aug. 2) at Shellrock, Iowa, for a series of meetings."

1945

  • LOI 1945-11: Dan Dunnett, 722 Dodge St., Lake Geneva, WI: "Bro. Dunnett has spent some time helping in the Lake Geneva and Brodhead assemblies. These meetings are small and help is appreciated. He intended starting three weeks meetings in St. Louis about the middle of October and then visiting scenes of former labors in the Ozarks."

1946

  • L&L 1946-3: Elgie B. Jamison, Mason City, IA: Feb. 6: "We commenced meetings at Brodhead, Wisc., about ten days ago. The Lord has come in and saved three. I purpose on having meetings again soon around Mason City or Clear Lake."
  • L&L 1946-8: "Leonard Sheldrake gave much needed help to the Assembly at Brodhead, Wisc., for two weeks during July. The saints at this place will appreciate the help of an able brother."
  • LOI 1946-9: M.J. Kennedy, 54 Eaton St., Stratford, CT: "Bro. Kennedy, after giving some help in open air work and in small assemblies in the east, purposes, D.V., spending some time helping the assembly in Brodhead, Wisconsin. The assembly was formed some years ago and brother Mehl has spent considerable time there. A few years ago the assembly sustained a heavy loss in the sudden death of their most gifted brother. We believe brother Kennedy will be of some real service to them."

1947

  • L&L 1947-3: Feb. 6: "Elgie B. Jamison has returned to Brodhead, Wisc., where he held meetings in December and two professed at that time. He is continuing under adverse weather, many unable to attend due to blocked roads, but one more has professed salvation."
  • LOI 1947-3:
    • M.J. Kennedy, Oklahoma City, OK: "I have been helping in the different assemblies in the east since I came away from Brodhead, Wis., and I have had word from brother King and his wife that God has given them a little blessing. It would be nice for God's people to remember this little assembly in prayer as they are in great need of help. Quite a few of the Lord's servants give them a little help as they are able."
    • Dan Dunnett, Lake Geneva, WI: "Bro. Dunnett spent some time in January visiting small companies of the Lord's people in Wisconsin: Brodhead, Sheboygan, Appleton, etc. Later he purposes going to Oklahoma City, speaking from his model of the Tabernacle, and from there to other places where he has been invited for meetings."
  • L&L 1947-4: E.B. Jamison: Feb. 27: "I closed meetings at Brodhead, Wisconsin and three professed salvation. Came to LaCrosse, WI for meetings which commenced Sunday night. Two have professed. The hall has been full each night. Am speaking from the chart, "Two Roads and Two Destinies".
  • LOI 1947-5: E.B. Jamison: "Bro. Jamison had good meetings in Brodhead, Wisconsin, where a few professed to be saved. He started meetings in LaCrosse, Wisconsin in March, using the "Two Roads and Two Destinies" chart. When we last heard on March 12th, the attendance was very good, the hall being well filled almost every night. Some came from Minnesota to these meetings, and one family was exercised about gathering to the name of the Lord Jesus. Two had professed to be saved."

1948

  • L&L 1948-6: Paul Elliott, Aplington, IA: "Have been at Brodhead, Wisc., lately with Chauncey Yost. One has professed to be saved."
  • LOI 1948-6: Paul Elliott, Aplington, IA & Chauncey Yost, Black Earth, WI: "These two brethren had Gospel meetings in Brodhead, Wisc., with good interest during the month of April."

1949

  • AA 1949-6: MI: "Br. Leonard Sheldrake remained for nearly a month in and around Grand Rapids at conference time. His ministry in Grand Haven, Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo was greatly appreciated. He has gone on to Milwaukee, Brodhead and the Waterloo Conference."
  • LOI 1949-11: W. Fisher Hunter, Waynesboro, PA: "I have been having a good hearing in the Word among believers at Brodhead, Wisconsin. Two were baptized last Lord's day. After two weeks here and two nights in Black Earth, Wis., I will go to the Blue River conference."

1950

  • AA 1950-4: WI: "Bro. F.W. Mehl has been giving help in the Brodhead assembly."
  • LOI 1950-6: F.W. Mehl, Detroit, MI: "Br. Mehl has been in Brodhead, Wisc., helping the small assembly for the past six weeks, and may be there for another two months. He takes part in the regular weekly meetings, and helps in other ways. A feature of his work there is writing a weekly article for the local newspaper entitled "What We Believe". The paper runs this in two 12" columns. The gospel, and New Testament principles of gathering, are thus presented to a large number of readers."
  • AA 1950-8: Brodhead, WI: "Bro. F.W. Schwartz spent some time with the saints in Brodhead. Unfavorable weather conditions and other circumstances hindered the pitching of the assembly's tent."
  • L&L 1950-9:
    • F.W. Schwartz, Detroit, MI: He "had a series of meetings in Brodhead, Wisc., which were helpful. Also gave a little help in passing in Beetown and Garnavillo, Iowa, and had a brief series in Black Earth."

  • LOI 1950-11: F.W. Schwartz, Detroit, MI: "Bro. Schwartz has spent most of the summer and fall visiting and helping small companies of the Lord's people. He has visited Brodhead and Black Earth, Wisconsin; Youngstown, Ohio; Deckerville, Michigan; and assemblies in Canada. He expects to be with the Avondale assembly in Chicago during the latter part of October."

1951

  • LOI 1951-4: D.M. Dunnett, 722 Dodge St., Lake Geneva, WI:
    • "Since Thanksgiving I have been at home helping the local assembly. For several years there had been a hindering element here. But sometime ago that was rectified, now it is a case of trying to build up that which was broken down. We began with Sunday school work and are encouraged in that by gradual growth. Then the saints wanted another weeknight meeting, so we have ministry on Tuesdays and Thursdays. At present I am giving Tabernacle lessons with my model, and these seem to be appreciated."
    • "Wednesdays I go to Brodhead to give a little help on "The Feasts of Jehovah" with a chart. Lord's Days are divided between Lake Geneva and Brodhead. In March (D.V.), I'll be in Iowa beginning the springs season with the conference at Waterloo. Summer months will again be with the Gospel Messengers, as it is proposed to spend the season in upper Wisconsin."
    • "The local sisters were exercised about missionary work, so they have now begun a local group. All these little extra activities tend toward a spirit of unity and fellowship. We are looking to the Lord to grant us the increase in numbers. Incidentally, I have been working on the hall, painting and getting it into shape for the summer season."
  • LOI 1951-6: Elgie B. Jamison, Mason City, IA: "When last we heard, Br. Jamison was in Brodhead, Wisc., seeking to help the assembly there."
  • LOI 1951-7: Elgie B. Jamison: "At Brodhead, Wisc., recently a couple was restored to the meeting and one young lady professed Christ the last night I was there. I am thinking some of pitching a tent near Brodhead, perhaps at Beloit or Oxfordsville. I am able, by the Lord's help, to get in contact with quite a few people. Some attended the meetings at Brodhead. I believe a good work can be accomplished around there."
  • AA 1951-9: Eastport, MI: "Our brother F.W. Mehl has converted a schoolhouse into a Gospel Centre and is encouraged in seeing some sinners from this neighborhood coming in for gospel literature and to hear the Gospel which he purposes each Lord's Day as the Lord enables. Open House was held on Aug. 16 when the Harbor Springs and Cadillac assemblies, with some from Fort Wayne, Detroit, Grand Rapids and Brodhead, Wisc. spent a happy afternoon and evening together. The word was ministered in the afternoon and the gospel preached in the evening. Together with brother Mehl, brethren Pontius, Detrick and W. Pell took part."
  • AA 1951-10: "Paul Elliott and F.W. Schwartz visited Brodhead, Wis., and had a few gospel meetings. One woman professed and others are interested."
  • LOI 1951-12: F.W. Schwartz, Detroit, MI: "Bro. Schwartz has been having meetings in Brodhead, WI; Davenport, IA; and at Atchison, Wichita, Kansas City and Topeka, KS. A few have professed faith and God's people have been helped."
  • L&L 1951-12: F.W. Schwartz: "I have had meetings recently in Brodhead, Davenport, Atchison and Wichita. The Lord has given encouragement in a few souls saved. I attended our home conference this year and the ministry was excellent."

  • WiS 1953-3: LaCrosse, WI: "Bro. Hamilton was visiting Omaha with bro. Mick at the Central Gospel Hall, two had professed. Bre. DeBuhr and Dale Hyde were at Grand View, Iowa. Bro. Jamison at Brodhead, last report. L. Brandt and C. Yost at Ontario, WI."

1954

  • L&L 1954-1: F.W. Schwartz, Detroit, MI: He "had appreciated meetings at Atchison, KS, Omaha, NE, and Brodhead, WI during Nov. and Dec."

1956

  • L&L 1956-6: Stephen Mick, Boscobel, WI: He "recently closed seven weeks of well attended meetings in Brodhead, Wis., with some fruit in the gospel and is presently in a series at Everett, Penn., for which prayer is valued."

1960's

1960

  • LOI 1960-1: F.W. Schwartz, Detroit, MI: "I have been kept busy with meetings in Greenfield, IA; Atchison, KS; Kansas City, MO; and Ottumwa, IA. I expect to spend a little time in Brodhead, Wisc., and Valparaiso, IN before going home. The Lord has given help and saints speak of being helped, for which we praise Him."
  • WiS 1960-6: LaCrosse, WI: "Recent conference good, the Word in freshness and power. Ten of the Lord's servants present. Bre. Mick and Brandt went to Grandview, Bro. Warke to Mason City, S. Hamilton has been in Brodhead and Lake Geneva, Bro. Oliver Smith not too well."
  • WiS 1960-9: Brod., WI: "Bro. S. Mick is trying some meetings here with the small assembly."

1962

  • L&L 1962-5: Paul Elliott, Aplington, IA: "Robert Orr and I are having Gospel meetings in Brodhead, Wisconsin. A young farmer and his wife have professed to be saved and others are interested."
  • LOI 1962-11: Two Saved in Tent Attend Meetings in Chapel: Stephen Mick, Boscobel, WI: "Samuel Hamilton and I are following up the tent meetings we had near Brodhead which a number of strangers attended. Some are attending the meetings in the hall where we are teaching now. I also conducted four weeks of ten meetings in Poplar Grove, Illinois, where two professed to be saved and are now attending some of the meetings in the hall."

1965

  • WiS 1965-6: WI/IA: "S. Hamilton had a spell in Texas, visiting etc., Br. Saword was giving help in Iowa and Wisconsin with appreciation. All day meeting at Blue River was good. Bre. Dobson and Orr in Manchester, Iowa and bre. DeBuhr and Yost in Mason City. Br. Elliott in Ontario, Wisc., Br. Mick in Brodhead. Good company reported at Waterloo conference."

1967

    • Slabaugh at Indiana, PA
    • Baldwin and Klabunda saw some blessing at Matoaca, VA. They had seven weeks.
    • Warke and McCullough were at Sarnia, last report.
  • LOI 1967-4: Gospel Preached at Lynxville, Wis.: "Stephen Mick recently had gospel meetings in Lynxville, Wis.; while there he gave out tracts door to door, and in every home left gospel calendars which were gladly received. He was planning to start meetings in Brodhead, Wis., for which prayer would be appreciated."
  • WiS 1967-5: Coal Creek, KS: "Bro. Hamilton writes of an interesting visit here where there is a small Assembly, using his Egypt to Canaan chart. He mentions that bro. Mick was at Brodhead for several weeks. Dobson and Paul Elliott to Marion, Iowa in their new Hall."
  • WiS 1967-6: IA/WI Conferences: "Waterloo, IA reported very large and encouraging, ministry profitable and quite practical, under the Spirit's leading. Th La Crosse, Wisc. Conference also was larger and the Lord gave us a good season together, much helpful ministry, assembly-wise and personal, which should lead to more consistent living for God. Br. Elliott and Dobson started in Marion, IA, br. McCullough and Crawford at Hampton, IA., Br. Hamilton had two weeks recently in Omaha, Neb., Br. Mick had nine weeks at Brodhead, some blessing."
  • WiS 1967-12: Brodhead, WI: "Bro. Hamilton visited here with "Egypt to Canaan" chart. Blue River Wisc. Conference reported good and large and helpful, if we practice the Word."

  • WiS 1968-1: Brod., WI: "Bro. S. Hamilton had about four weeks with the Christians here recently."

1970's

1970

  • WiS 1970-8: Garnavillo, IA: "The tent meetings at Strawberry Point have been very encouraging. The tent holds some hundreds and many coming out. Our last report about sixty or more unsaved were coming nightly and God has been working. We trust it shall be a real encouragement to the saints of this place, also Manchester, and West Union, etc. Our brother started May 24th, and we know nothing but hard work will accomplish much for God. We thank God for all 'workers', we need such not those seeking an easy path. They had a good all day meeting at Blue River, Wisconsin, the 28th of June. Bre. Mick and Norris were at Brodhead, brother Warke at Marion, IA."

1973

  • WiS 1973-4: IA/WI: "At Stout, two professed at meetings of bre. Orr and Gaius Goff. Dobson and Elliott were to start in Hitesville. Bro. Mick visited some of the assemblies of the district, brother Hamilton returned from a visit to the south, was in Brodhead at latest, also Black Earth. DeBuhr and Orr at Waterloo in the Gospel."

  • WiS 1987-3: Br., WI: "Gospel meetings began on Feb. 1 with brethren Roy Weber and Robert Orr."
  • WiS 1987-4: Br., WI: "Some have professed, among them a young couple from the outside, in a gospel effort which brethren Robert Orr and Roy Weber are sharing."
  • WiS 1987-11: Br., WI: "Bre. Roy Weber and Robert Orr were with the saints over Sept. 27, when a middle-aged man who had professed this past spring was baptized."
