Birth

He was born in 1847 in Bonden, Cheshire, England to James and Sarah (Gunner) Lockett.

Marriage

Lockett's wife was Charlotte Emily Haines (b. 1852 Kingston, ON - d. 1936 Frontenac, ON).

Career

By 1880, Frederick and his father-in-law, John Josiah Haines, had founded a boot and shoe firm advertised initially as "Haines & Lockett", which was headquartered in Belleville, but subsequently started a branch in Trenton, and eventually Napanee. The latter was started by a former clerk, John C. Hawley (1856-1912), a Methodist, who started his own store, later selling it to the forementioned conglomerate, and functioning as a manager. In 1901, the partnership was dissolved, and carried on by Haines, and managed by A.E. Snider. The store was also known as the Belleville City Boot Store, and eventually expanded to carry trunks and other travelling materials.

Death

He died in 1929 in Belleville, Ontario. His death was attended to by Dr. C.H. Elliott of Kingston, and the undertaker was R.J. Reid.
