Books For Christians was founded in 1972 in Charlotte, North Carolina, and has published a variety of series of Bible commentaries, in connection with Charlotte Gospel Hall (KLC-EB), and founded by Joseph Hubert Claar (1927-2020) in conjunction with a Christian bookstore that operated in a shopping mall in Charlotte, that folded a number of years ago. It was best known for a fine commentary series known as The Serious Christian, the first edition having twenty issues, a subsequent series with ten more, and assorted others.
