Dr. George Thomas Lord was born around 1877 in Lisle or Cortlandville, New York, and attended the University of Buffalo Dental School, graduating in 1898, then relocated to Tacoma, Pierce, Washington where he practiced as a dentist 17 years, returning to Buffalo to practice another 30 years, including his final 10 at offices he owned at 422 Stockbridge in the Kensington section.

He served as a correspondent in 1936 for the (OB) Kensington Gospel Meeting at 3296 Bailey Ave., then later was in fellowship with the Assembly Hall at 111 Elmwood Ave, both in Buffalo. He served as a Bible class instructor at the Buffalo Bible Institute, and in the Christian Businessman's Committee, also a lay preacher. He died in Buffalo in July of 1947, services were at the assembly. His wife was Lydia B. Herman Lord (b. 1878 N.Y.).

He had two siblings:

  • Dr. Walter Russell Lord. Walter served as a rector 1907-1944 of St. John's Episcopal Church in Buffalo. Wife: Evelyn Rumsey Lord. Evelyn's brother Charles Cary "Pad" Rumsey was a noted polo player and bronze sculptor.
  • Caroline L. Lord Brown (b. 1871 Cortlandville, N.Y.), lived in London, England later.

  • Walter Russell Lord (b. 1906 Tacoma, Pierce, WA). Salesman in the seat cover industry in 1950 in Buffalo. Wife: Gretta Murphy Lord-Harris (b. 1906 Orillia, ON - d. 1977 Atherley, Simcoe, ON), daughter of Robert Andrew Harris (b. 1862 Orillia, ON - d. 1923 Atherley, ON) & Keturah Whitney Harris (b. 1865 Mara, Longford Mills, ON - 1952 Atherley, ON).
  • Langdon R. Lord (b. 1900 Tacoma, WA - d. 1979 Tonawanda, N.Y.). Wife (1932 @ Buffalo, N.Y.): Dorothy L. Bauer Lord
  • Robert F. Lord (b. 1907 Tacoma, WA - d. 1976 Buffalo, N.Y.). Wife: Jean Carson Lord (1908-1968 Buffalo, N.Y.). One of Jean's sisters was Anna Rose Carson Brooks (b. 1898 Belfast, N.I. - d. 1986 Manila, P.I.), pioneer open brethren assembly worker in the Philippines, wife of Cyril Harry Brooks (b. 1898 Lingfield, Surrey, Eng. - d. 1986 Manila, P.I.).
  • Ruth Lord Duttweiler (b. 1909 - d. 2006 Clarence, N.Y.). Husband: Henry "Pete" Duttweiler (1901-1992), son of Frederick Wilhelm Duttweiler (1864-1941 Millgrove, Erie, N.Y.) & Laura Mills Burket Duttweiler (b. 1871 IA - d. 1921 Alden, Erie, N.Y.). Memorial @ Marilla Baptist Church. Children:
    • Mary Jane Duttweiler Peters (b. 1931 - d. 2012 Alden, N.Y.). Husband: Chauncey E. "Don" Peters (b. 1929 - d. 2012 Alden, N.Y.). Chauncey served as an F2 in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
    • Kenneth H. Duttweiler (b. 1938 Newstead, Erie, N.Y. - d. 1979 Bristol, Kenosha, WI). Wife: Audrey Duttweiler. At least one child: Jeffrey Duttweiler (1962-1967).
