Trinity Bible Church, KY
Trinity Bible Church was/is an open brethren assembly in Owensboro, Daviess, Kentucky founded on Sept. 11, 1983 by a former Baptist minister named Isaac "Dix" Winston III who graduated Murray State University, served 1975-1978 with Campus Crusade, then graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1982, and served with Grace Church in Tuscaloosa, Alabama before returning to his hometown of Owensboro.
The initial assembly plant had 25 core members meeting initially in Evansville, Indiana, then moving to Owensboro Junior High School. Their numbers doubled within the first three months of meeting in Owensboro. An article on its roots may be found at Messenger-Inquirer 1983-12-17. A majority of the early members were of Baptist or Methodist background, but desiring non-denominational status. Emmaus Bible College was an early influence, supplying correspondence courses for study, and there was vision of night classes, a bookstore, and an audio library.
