- Franz Jung 1923-1947 (b. 1887 Weidenau, Germany - d. 1947 Kenosha, WI), son of Ludwig Jung. A "well-known employee" of the Simmons Manufacturing Co., according to his obit in the Kenosha News. Franz had two sisters, Mrs. Laura Steinseifer (Kenosha, WI) & Miss Minna Jung (Germany).
- Zalman Gilbert Simmons started his company in 1870 manufacturing cheese boxes, which developed by 1875 into the first woven wire mattresses, patenting the "Beautyrest" brand in 1925, and the first "Hide-A-Bed" in 1940, becoming the "world's largest bedding manufacturer" until 2011 when it slipped to third place, and its parent company filed Ch 11 on 2023-1-23.
