Dresch family

L&L 1955-1: With the Lord: "Mrs. Edith (Anderson) Dresch passed on, on Dec. 4th, at the age of 62, as the result of a stroke on Nov. 26. She was formerly associated with Kossuth Avenue Gospel Chapel, St. Louis, Mo., and for over 33 years has been a valued help-meet in the Mexican Mission in San Antonio, Texas. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Grace Anderson and her husband, Ervin D. Dresch. She was an active worker and will be greatly missed. She conducted two Bible classes for years and took care of the music. Mr. Leonard S. Ingram, of Mexico City, who was visiting the assemblies in San Antonio, at the time of her passing, was in charge of the service in the Mexican Gospel Hall which was packed out. He gave a suitable word in Spanish, and brother Joe McManee [Baptist preacher] spoke in English. Three memorial services were held in the funeral home, and many heard the messages, a great number being those who had passed through the Sunday School in years gone by. The prayers of the saints are greatly desired for the future of the Mexican work in San Antonio, Texas."

Nelson family

L&L 1944-4: "George R. Nelson, was very suddenly called home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 20, fifty-four years of age. He was with us at the morning meeting where he gave us a precious touching word concerning the wondrous love of the Lord; of how that He laid down His life for our sakes, John 10:17, and there paid the debt of sin for us. The family left before the meeting was over, brother was then beginning to feel poorly. Very shortly after reaching home, before the Doctor arrived, his spirit had gone home to be with the Lord whom he loved, and of whom he had just been speaking. We lay the body to rest awaiting that blessed day when the dead in Christ shall rise to meet the Lord in the air and be forever with Him. I Thess. 4:13-18. Our hearts go out in deepest sincere Christian love and sympathy in be- half of the dear bereaved ones."

L&L 1944-5: "In announcing the homecall of Geo. R. Nelson in the last issue of Light and Liberty we did not state that he lived in St. Louis, Mo., and was in happy fellowship at the Kossuth Ave. Gospel Chapel."

Both have proved themselves faithful to the Lord and His testimony in their respective spheres, and Mr. Presson, who was in Japan during the last war, has already had opportunity of ministering in this land. The hearty fellowship of the Lord's people is bespoken on their behalf."

Prinster family

  • L&L 1944-8: With the Lord: "George P. Prinster, Kossuth Avenue Gospel Hall, St. Louis, Missouri went home to be with the Lord June 21. His death came at the age of 83 years, ending a long period of illness. At 38 Bro. Prinster attended a gospel service and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. During his remaining 45 years he was in happy fellowship with the saints here and became known and loved far and wide through his position

as correspondent. The funeral service held June 23 was attended by a large number of friends. George Gray of Kansas City, Mo, and Fred D. Hampson of the Kossuth Assembly shared the services speaking words of comfort and warning. Brother Prinster leaves to mourn his loss his wife, daughter, relatives and a host of friends. "So He giveth His beloved sheep" . . . "That they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them."

Wallington family

LOI 1949-11: Recently Commended: "Recently commended to the Lord's service by Kossuth Gospel Chapel, believers meeting at St. Louis are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wallington. Bro. Wallington, brought up in the assembly, was saved in early youth and has since been active in the Lord's work. They believe the Lord would have them devote their full-time to gospel work with teen-agers. Their address: 206 Green Ave., Greenville, S.C."

L&L 1949-11: St. Louis, MO: 1949-10-3: "To Christians gathered to the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, in U. S. A. and Canada: Beloved brethren: We take pleasure in commending to your love and fellowship, our young brother and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wallington, 206 Green Ave., Greenville, South Carolina, who are starting out in active service for the Lord.

Brother Wallington was brought up in our Assembly, his parents having been in fellowship many years. At an early age he came to know Christ as his own personal Lord and Savior, and from that time his life has been that of a true consecrated Christian, diligent in serving the Lord. As a result of experience gained in working with teen-age and high school groups, our brother and his wife believe that the Lord would have them devote their full time in seeking to win these young people to Christ.

God has already blessed and encouraged them in this ministry. Realizing that few in this day and age are burdened for the lost, and that "the fields are white already to harvest," we prayerfully commend them to God, and to you, as they go forth to serve Him. Signed in behalf of the Assembly at Kossuth Gospel Chapel, St. Louis, Missouri: Fred G. St. Clair, Wm. Albrecht, Wm. L. Buschart."
