LOI 1965-5: Registration Widespread, Heavy For Conference Where Christians Confer:

From single individuals to families of seven; from Coldwater, Mich.; Los Angeles, Moose Jaw, Sault Ste. Marie, Belleville, Ill.; Cincinnati area; Groton, Conn.; Davenport, Iowa; Gainesville, Fla.; Schenectady, Philadelphia, Albuquerque, Ottawa; Greenville, S.C.; Washington, D.C.; Montreal, Toronto, St. Catherines, Ont.; Detroit, Chicago, New York, but why go on? To date applications have come from 46 assemblies across America for registration at the LOI Conference Where Christians Confer on assembly affairs, July 10-18, at Lake Geneva, Wis. As near as we can estimate, with a bit more than half the registrations indicating the number of persons coming from each assembly, the number of men, women, boys and girls is at this date about 180.

Every effort is being made to stretch accommodations beyond this. The attendance is by invitation, in that each assembly has been invited to send one person, one couple, or one family: no more. That is so as many assemblies as possible can be accommodated. Also, as responses come to a questionnaire, those attending will be notified of conference responsibilities they will be asked to undertake, such as leading discussions, handling workshops and seminars, etc., etc. Cooperative participation by all will make this conference most profitable, not only to those who attend, but also to their assemblies, and to the testimony throughout America.

Registrations are still being accepted, and when it is evident that all available space is taken new applicants will be notified they are being placed on a waiting list. Also those registering late, who are prepared to pay the much higher cost of outside accommodations, can have motel reservations off the grounds made for them. They can participate in all sessions and activities, and probably eat in the dining room.

The widespread and heavy registration is most gratifying in that it evidences the serious concern and keen interest of many assemblies in the matters affecting the assembly testimonies which are to be aired at the CWCC (Conference Where Christians Confer), with a view to doing what the Lord would have us do to further the testimony, correct errors, expand pioneering.

A vital feature of the CWCC is a daily 7 a.in. prayer meeting. Following breakfast-except on Sundays-pattern assembly activities, workshops and seminars will fill the morning. The afternoons will be given to recreation activities except for a Bible discussion period. In the evenings The Local Church and Pioneering will be the chief features, followed by a social time. More details will be available for the June issue of LOI. Special activities for. the teens and the younger boys and girls are being developed.
