William Murray LOI 1934-7
William Murray, Matheson, Ontario:
"Six months ago we began to work here following Brother Johnston and also reaching out to new places. At least 8 have professed Christ and a number of backsliders have been restored. Have recently been preaching in townships of Currie and Anthony, but deep snow has for the present stopped us in these places.
We hope to go to Bowman for meetings and also [Watabeag] district. We are faced with the problem of getting a hall in Currie. For the sum of $200 we could put up a building that would be plain and cheap but suitable for our purpose. Up here most of the settlers were unemployed while living in Ontario and were sent up here on government relief.
Need we remark that many of the people here are very poorly clothed? Clothing of all kinds; shoes, and rubbers are always needed, particularly in Fall and Winter seasons."
