Abbyville Meeting Room, KS

Jacque Gottlieb Gagnebin (b. 1830 Geneva, Switzerland - d. 1917 Abbyville, KS) was presumably introduced to the exclusive PB in Switzerland, and emigrated with his parents to Macoupin Co., Illinois prior to 1850, and is thought to have been in fellowship with the Alton Meeting Room on the Illinois side of the St. Louis metro prior to homesteading in 1870 in Abbyville, Kansas. A journal from the era makes reference in 1870 to going to "meeting" and it is presumed that Jacque setup a PB assembly in the area about that time. The fate of this assembly is unknown, but it was not listed in the 1878 or 1879 North American directories of primitive EB meetings.
