Devine Street Gospel Chapel was founded in 1937 as a hive off from Sarnia Gospel Hall in Ontario (founded in 1887) by the families of Marwick, Durley & Shand.
It met in the home of Adderley & Leila Durley until 1943 when they built their present structure under the capable leadership of Mr. Durley who was skilled as a finish carpenter, having also constructed the cabins at the Forest Cliff camp.
