History
This open brethren assembly was founded in Louisville, KY by Karl Pfaff. In 1931, William W. Elder and his wife Sadie Atwill Holt Elder relocated from Matoaca Gospel Hall in Virginia to assist. It may be worth noting that Pfaff was born in Washington, D.C. in 1910, and therefore not a native of Louisville, and was only 21 years old, and unmarried when he co-founded this meeting.  In 1964, William Elder's wife Sadie died, and William remarried a spinster from the same assembly in Virginia named Ruth Virginia McEwen, and they remained in fellowship in this assembly for the remainder of their lives.
