History
Assemblée chrétienne de St-Timothée is a French open brethren assembly founded in 1960 1959 that is located in Valleyfield, Haute-Yamaska, Montérégie, Greater Montréal, Southcentral Québec, Canada.
Sometime between 1956 when as yet “no new assemblies have been formed in the (Greater) Montreal area” and 1960 when we learn from the pages of News of Quebec that “there are now two small assemblies in the southwestern part of the province at Farnham and at Valleyfield,” this assembly had its beginnings. Ebb and Flow, A History of Christian Brethren Churches in French Canada, gives the year as 1960.
Thanks to the efforts of pioneer workers Noah Gratton and Albert Grainger, some twenty people were then meeting regularly in homes in the area. These were joined in 1962 by veteran workers, Vincent Davey and his wife Della, who had moved to the area from northwestern Quebec where they had been pioneering the work since the early 1940s.
