**** In 1880, F.G. Lockett was living in Trenton of Belleville, ON, and had co-founded the firm "Haines & Lockett", (the "Belleville City Boot Store" with an additional branch in Trenton, which was a boot & shoe merchant. By 1901, the partnership was dissolved, and succeeded by John Josiah Haines, Lockett's father-in-law, and managed by A.E. Snider. John C. Hawley (1856-1912), a Methodist, served as a clerk for Haines & Lockett's shoe store, and subseqently started a store of his own in Napanee that was later bought out by H & L. Lockett's wife was Charlotte Emily Haines (b. 1852 Kingston, ON - d. 1936 Frontenac, ON). Frederick was the son of James & Sarah (Gunner) Lockett of England. His death was attended to by Dr. C.H. Elliott of Kingston, and the undertaker was R.J. Reid.
