John Hughes Coxwell, aka J. Hughes Coxwell, was an early preacher within the Brethren assembly known as the Woolpit Meeting Room from ca. 1847-1852. Hughes was born on Dec. 15, 1817 in Gillingham, Kent, England to Joseph Coxwell (1775-1832) and Anne Godfrey Reeve Coxwell (1786-1850).
On Mar. 15, 1842 Hughes married Emma Maria Grinfield, at Islington, in London. Their 1st child, John, was born 1843 in Islington, London, and their 2nd child, Mary Emma was born in Dalston, London, and the next few children were born in Woolpit. Their 7th child, Susan, was born Oct. 1853 in Tendring, Essex, and subsequent children elsewhere, so it would be presumed the Coxwell family relocated prior to then.
