James died of a heart attack at the age of 63 while preparing to repair a veranda at 131 Summer Street in Manchester for James McIlduff. In 1931, Mr. Serpliss lived at 129 Summer St. He had two siblings, William Serpliss (N.I.), and Mrs. Jean Disney (Kingston, [[Ontario|ON]]. Children (surviving as of 1938):
