In 1871, when Abner & Margaret were married in Nelson, Halton, ON, Abner was Baptist and Margaret was Methodist. The wedding was witnessed by C.W. Crooker & Charles Harper, both of Wellington, Ontario. The Elms family was PB by 1891, living in Hamilton, ON. Abner was a son of William Elms (b. 1808/1810 Abinger, Surrey, Eng. - d. 1887 Dorking, Surrey, Eng.) & Caroline Hersey Elms (b. 1814 Shere, Surrey, Eng. - d. 1876 Dorking, Eng.), and employed in 1891 as a bricklayer. In 1851, when Abner was four, his family resided at Pitland Street, Surrey, [[England]]. daughter of George Blair (b. 1809 Tulliallan, Perth, Scot. - d. 1891 Burlington, ON) & Helen Nicol Blair (b. 1812 Tulliallan, Scot.; m. 1838 Tulliallan, Scot.; d. 1883 Burlington, ON).

In 1921, Oliver was Baptist, and employed as a stenographer for the police department in Vancouver, and maintained work there for many years. He served overseas with the 102nd Batt. in WWI. 1st wife (1924 @ Vancouver, BC): Mary Elizabeth A. Simpson Elms. 2nd wife: Elma May Elms. *** Kenneth William Elms (b. 1926 Vancouver, BC - d. 1984 North Vancouver, BC). *** Ethel Margaret "Peggy" Elms Hawthorne (b. 1927 Vancouver, BC - d. 2009 Burnaby, Vancouver, BC). Husband (1949 @ Cove Cliff, BC): William "Bill" Hugh Hawthorne (b. 1923 - d. 2001 Burnaby, BC). Bill & Peggy's wedding was the first at St. Simon's Church in Cove Cliff, which was on July 20, 1949, the 55th anniversary of William & Annie Elms'. Bill's memorial was at East Burnaby UC, and his obit stated that his "thoughtfulness and love for others touched many lives".

Husband (1934 @ Vancouver, BC): Arthur Frederick Alexander Crawford (b. 1906 Kamsack, Mackenzie, [[Saskatchewan|SK]] - d. 1975 Summerland, BC), son of Arthur Alexander Crawford (b. 1879 Gorrie, Huron, ON - d. 1964 Summerland, BC) & Lillian Augusta Porter Crawford (b. 1888 East Ham, Essex, Eng. - d. 1953 Summerland, BC). In 1911, Arthur, Jr. attended school at Pelly Indian Agency, his family was Methodist. Dorothy was still alive in 1974, and living in Summerland.
