[[Annie Bell Johnson McEwen]] was a charter member of [[Matoaca Gospel Hall, VA|Matoaca Gospel Hall]] founded in 1895 in Virginia.
From Sept. 1963 ''Letters of Interest'': '''Mrs. Sam McEwen''': "On June 5, 1963 Mrs. Sam McEwen, the widow of the well-known brother, was called Home to be with the Lord, in her 87th year. She was saved early in life, during the pioneering days in [[Virginia]], when Alexander Lamb, James M. Hamilton and [[William Beveridge]] were conducting meetings in Matoaca.
A lover of hospitality, she entertained many of the Lord's people through several years. Mrs. McEwen is suvived by four sons and three daughters. The funeral service was led by Oswald MacLeod.
