In a 1911 Ireland Census, William identified as Brethren, at the age of 19. Others in his family identifying as Brethren were his sister [[Hannah Jane Sherrard McIntosh|Hannah Jane]], 26, and at some juncture, their brother [[Robert Andrew Sherrard]], co-founder [[Hillside Bible Chapel, CA]] in the mid-1950's.<br /><br />Believer's Magazine (1973 July) had an obit for William that indicated that he gave his life to Christ around 1908, and received in the assembly at Ardmore near Limavady, then in the one in Limavady for many years. Then from 1948-1973 in the assembly in Coleraine.<br /><br />He was reported to be "a quiet, consistent brother whose good testimony in the country was manifested by the large number who attended the funeral. He was a man who had an interest in the Gospel, prayed for his neighbors and friends, and saw all his family saved early in life."
