* LIP 1927-3-11: "The patrol system recently inaugurated in this county is proving out good here. Carl Parriott is responsible for the state road in this section and has it looking like a billiard table."
* The Morning Chronicle, Manhattan, KS 1927-8-24: Noted Kansas Rancher Dies: Kansas City, Aug. 23: AP: "John Moffett, 74, widely known rancher and stockman, died at his home here today. He had been associated for more than 30 years with his brother in a livestock commission firm here. As a young man he went by wagon from Leavenworth to Harper county, Kansas where he settled. He is survived by his widow, who was Miss Helen Mustard of Manchester, Kansas."** This may have been the same John Moffett that gave gospel meetings in Long Island in 1912. The Manhattan Mercury previously indicated that his family also owned large amounts of land in Oklahoma and Missouri.
