In 1903, he relocated to Los Angeles, CA where he opened up a carpenter shop at 1227 S. Figueroa, while residing at 1122 W. 17th. Haldemand Sumner Putnam] (b. 1836 Cornish City, Sullivan, NH - d. 1863 Fort Wagner, SC) who was killed in action while in command of the 2nd Brigade during an attack on Fort Wagner, SC. Haldemand was a son of John Lyscom Putnam (1792-1875 Cornish, NH) & Adeline Matilda Sumner Putnam (b. 1811 Claremont, NH - d. 1893 Corinth, VT)
