* Arthur Ardagh (b. 1746 Ireland - d. 1846 Moygleese, Co. Meath, [[Republic of Ireland|RoI]]). Wife: Anne Brown (d. 1855), daughter of Samuel Brown of Fethard, "a gentleman of independent means", as per [https://www.trinitybarrie.com/our-history-1 Trinity Barrie's history]. Arthur was an Anglican rector at Moyglare, Co. Meath, RoI]. He was "spoken of as a man of profound scholarship, and of wild and restless temper". ** Dr. John Russell Ardagh (b. 1810 Waterford, R.I. - d. 1868 Barrie, ON) - uncle of Dr. Arthur Roach Ardagh who graduated medicine at Trinity College in Dublin, and immigrated to Canada in 1844, after two exploratory trips in 1842-1843. He started practice as a surgeon in Holland Landing, then Barrie. He used to tell many exciting stories of his long journeys and narrow escapes." Wife: Anne Henrietta Gowan Ardagh (b. 1817 RoI - d. 1889 Barrie, ON). She was a sister of Senator Sir James Robert Gowan (b. 1815 Cahore, Co. Wexford, RoI - d. 1909 Barrie, ON), the first judge in the Simcoe District, which was the largest jurisdiction in Upper Canada at the time, in 1843. Tipperary, RoI - d. 1893 Hoboken, Hudson, [[New Jersey|N.J.]]). He practiced law in Toronto with John Willoughby Crawford. In 1882, he served as deputy judge in Simcoe Co. He served as Reeve of Barrie 1864-1870, then as Mayor 1877-1881, as per [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_mayors_of_Barrie Wikipedia]. He also served as a Member of Provincial Parliament for Simcoe North at the 2nd Assembly from 1871-1874 as a Conservative (see [Republic https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simcoe_North_(provincial_electoral_district) Wiki]. He later moved to Winnipeg, and served as Deputy Attorney-General and County judge, and on the Board of Police Commissioners. In 1881, William & Martha were Reformed Episcopal. By 1891, Martha's sister Emma was residing with her and children Katie & Arthur, and registered as PB. In 1881, the family resided in Toronto, and Lewis was CoE, as was their five youngest children and 2nd eldest. However, Sarah and her daughter were PB, Tipperaryas well as her son Arthur Blagrave Ord (b. 1855 Toronto, Ireland ON - d. 1869 Barrie1940 Wentworth, ON), who was "Protestant" in +1891+, CoE +1901+, and PB again in +1911-1921+, and CoE in 1931. By 1911, Arthur resided in Hamilton, so likely with [[Hamilton Meeting Room, ON]], and was employed as a bank manager. In 1885, in Binghamton, NY, he married Anna Elizabeth Child (b. 1856 Binghamton, Broome, NY - d. 1920 Curwensville, Clearfield, PA), daughter of Nial Townley Child (b. 1930 Minisink, Orange, NY) & Martha Alvira Weston Child (b. 1832 NY - d. 1863). Nial was employed as a tanner in Nicholson, PA. In 1860, Anna resided with her family at Napanoch, Ulter, NY. *** John Anderson Ardagh . He was Junior Judge of Simcoe Co. In 1862, while residing in Hamilton, Dr. Ardagh was serving as coroner in Orillia, a position his son Dr. Edward Arthur Ardagh held later. In 1891, Arthur was registered as PB, whereas his wife and son Ainslie were CoE, and his daughter Edith was Reformed Episcopal.
