Wife (1903 @ Memphis, TN): Margaret "Mary" Cox DeSaussure Clarke (b. 1876 Camden, SC - d. 1970 Fulton Co., GA), daughter of Gen. Charles Alfred DeSaussure (b. 1846 McPhersonville, Beaufort, SC - d. 1935 Memphis, Shelby, TN) & Ellen Chesnut Reynolds DeSaussure (b. 1842 Camden, SC - d. 1920 Memphis, TN). Charles DeSaussure was a cousin of the previous mentioned DeSaussure family, and was the commander-in-chief of the United Confederate veterans of the Civil War, elected in 1931. He enlisted at the age of 16 in the Beaufort volunteer artillery, fighting in the battle of Honey Hill, Pocotaligo and others.
