William emigrated with his family to the U.S. in 1870. In 1880, his father was a coalminer, the family lived in Calif., Washington, PA. In 1900, he lived on Railroad St., Roscoe, Wash., PA. From +1933-1955+, he resided at 229 College Ave., Calif., Washington, PA. Also see Lyle family. * Thomas Higginson (b. 1828 Dudley, Eng. - d. +1915), son of William Higginson (b. 1789 Leire, Leicestershire, Eng.) & Anna Higginson (b. 1790 Birmingham, Warwick, Eng.). Thomas was a descendant of John Higginson (1546-1624 Claybrooke Parva, Leire, Leicestershire, Eng.) who was ordained at the age of 16 by Trinity College in Cambridge, an M.Div. at the age of 22, and pastored [https://www.flickr.com/photos/amthomson/53287085438/ St. Peter's] in Claybrooke Parva 1571-1624 when he "drowned while crossing a flooded stream on his way home after taking the service at another church", as per Ancestry genealogist [https://www.ancestry.com/profile/0451343c-0006-0000-0000-000000000000 Ross Macfarquhar] of New Zealand.
