In 1861, the Checkley family was CoE. By 1881, Edwin was PB @ [[Guelph Meeting Room, ON]], and employed as a bank clerk, and residing with fellow PB: Georgina Jones (b. 1833 Scot.), George B. Jones (b. 1861 ON), Frank C. Jones (b. 1864 ON) & Elizabeth Margaret "Lily" Reid (b. 1863 ON), who married Edwin in 1882 in Bowmanville, Durham, [[Ontario]]. James Little officiated their wedding. Edwin was residing in Kitchener, ON in 1882, and Waterloo, ON in 1885. The latter year, he was employed as a manager of Preston Banking Co. 1901 @ Toronto, ON. Edwin emigrated in 1902 or 1904.
