In 1881, George was employed as a butcher in Tottenham.

John Reihner Leonard, son of Frank Leonard (b. 1867 East Brady / Brady's Bend, Clarion, PA - d. 1953 Wendel, Westmoreland, PA) & Rose Reihner Leonard (b. 1867 Pgh., PA - d. 1943 Washington, PA). First Baptist was among the churches that also commended Harry Stam to missionary work. In 1935, he founded the Universal Oil and Gas Co., distributing petroleum for the Pure Oil Co. of the Republic of the Congo, then Cities Service Oil Co. until 1945 as an area distributor for Atlantic Refining Co. He served during WWII in the U.S. Army as a bomb recon "instructor at major troop installations in the southern states". He also operated a surplus store, including the brokerage of military decommissioned vehicles. He was discharged from active duty in Jan. 1946, and from the reserve in 1954 with the rank of Lt. Col. John had two sisters: Mary Leonard Saint & Mrs. Everett Seal.
