In the Dec. 1924 issue of ''The Believers Magazine'' published by John Ritchie in Kilmarnock, [[Scotland]], the worker reports mentioned that in Hutchinson, Kansas that "J.W. Johnston, from Brooklyn, has been evangelizing here, and in the district, with some encouragement."
 
Hutchinson Gospel Chapel is a healthy open brethren assembly that was founded in the mid-1940's by [[Richard Edwin Burson]], in Reno Co., [[Kansas]], west of Wichita. It was originally known as Hutchinson Bible Hall until 1957-1958 when it rebranded as its current name.
