Virginia H. Jelley Kuhlman

Virginia "Ginger" H. Jelley Kuhlman was born September 23, 1937 in Newark, New Jersey to William Jelley III and Hulda Jelley.  Her father served as executive vice-president at King's College and served as correspondent for a brethren assembly that met on campus 1947-1948.

She was married 50 years to Edward Lammert Kuhlman and she lived in Ossining, New York, and Ocean Grove, New Jersey, before moving to Grantham, Pennsylvania, where she was in fellowship with Chambersburg Gospel Chapel until her death in 2009, where her husband remained in fellowship until his death in 2012.  

Virginia was a graduate of Hampden Dubose Academy of Zellwood, Florida in 1955, and King's College in Briarcliff, New York in 1959.  She also attended Monmouth College, Long Branch, New Jersey.  She was an elementary school teacher (1st and 2nd grades) in New Jersey during the 1960's.

She and her husband Edward had three children, one of which, Keith Kuhlman, died at the age of 16 to cancer in 1993.  Their daughter Kerry lives with her husband James Hamlen in Huntersville, North Carolina, and their daughter Dr. Kristyn Kuhlman lives in Rochester, New York, as of 2009.  

She also served as a "dorm parent" for Messiah College students for many years, and was actively involved in the social life of the college.   She traveled extensively throughout Europe and Africa, and for two years, resided in Nairobi, Kenya, in service at Daystar University.  She traveled as well to Greece on several occasions and developed warm friendships with many Greek Christian workers associated with AMG Ministries.  She also participated in Christian aid efforts in Bosnia.  

She served as an officer for many years with the Grantham Women's Club, and was known for being a generous and caring woman who loved the Lord and delighted in entertaining and serving others.    She died November 13, 2009 after a four year battle with multiple myeloma, a form of cancer.
