Charlotte Gospel Hall is a Reunited (KLC) exclusive brethren assembly located in Charlotte, Mecklenburg, North Carolina that has been operational since 1962 when Joe Claar relocated to the area with his sales work, and started a meeting in his home until 1968 when it relocated to the lobby area of a defunct steel company, then in 1972 built its present location at 1125 N. Sharon Amity Rd. Joe was also founder of Books For Christians, which published The Serious Christian commentary series and others, and operated a bookshop in an early shopping mall.
Other early influences include Mack Austin, with a former Baptist background, who moved to the area in the mid-1960's, and Richard Todd by the 1970's who served 25 years as administrator at Carmel Hills, a local retirement village founded in 1980 which advertises an average of 50 independent and 30 assisted living residents, and besides Brethren, has attracted a goodly number of retired Billy Graham associates. Other notable residents have included the late Eugene Vedder, a noted Bible teacher.
