John Crawford Millen

John Crawford Millen (1812-1890) was a contact for an Exclusive preaching point +1878-1880+ 2 mi. W of what is now Glenvil, Nebraska, which is presently part of (and northeast of) Hanover.  

He was born 1812 in Scotland, emigrated to Alton, Illinois before 1842, where his children were all born. It is highly likely that he was in fellowship with the Alton Meeting Room which is the first known Exclusive assembly in the United States, although it is presently unknown when he came into fellowship.

John married Magdaline "Maggy" Currie (b. 1814 Dalry, Ayr, Scotland - d. 1897 Glenvil, NE), daughter of Archibald Currie;

• Jeanie Currie Millen (b. 1842 Alton, IL - d. 1931 Fort Morgan, CO) married Lucius Hoffendahl Felt (b. 1841 Boston, MA) on June 1, 1868 in Alton, IL; Lucius enlisted in June 1862, and served as a Private in the 8th MA Battery, participating in the Battles of Second Bull Run, Chantilly, South Mountain, Antietam and White Sulphur Springs before being discharged in Dec. 1862. He enlisted a second time in Nov. 1863 and served as quartermaster-sergeant in the 16th KS Cavalry until Nov. 1865. +1871-1877 Lucius & Jeanie were living in Omaha, NE, then by 1878 in Hastings, NE where he was employed as a bookkeeper. By 1900, they were living in Denver, CO. Children:

  • Ellen Adelia "Helen" Felt Price (b. 1878 Hastings, NE - d. 1952 Fort Morgan, CO) married Charles F. Price (b. 1872 Word County, WV - d. 1945 Fort Morgan, CO);
