Wedel family

  • Daniel C. Wedel (1885-1950) built the Hall with assistance of Menno Dyck, Alfred Base, etc. Son of Cornelius Benjamin Wedel (1833-1909) & Agnetha (or Aganeta) "Nettie" Richert Wedel (1849-1933). Cornelius emigrated in 1874 from Belarus. Nettie emigrated in 1875 from Russia. Both emigrated initially to Philadelphia, and were married and living in Lone Tree, Mcpherson, Kansas by 1880. They were Mennonite prior to starting Elm Springs.
