William Townsend Revell

Childhood

William Townsend Revell was born January 9, 1882 in Wellington, New Zealand. He was the son of Frederick Henry Revell (born in Ireland, in 1830) and Jane Emily Smith (born in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1842). His parents married in Wellington on March 1, 1862.

Testimony and Commendation

William Townsend Revell came to Christ in 1901 in New Zealand and was commended to India by Maharahara assembly in New Zealand in 1905. He served there many years and died on April 6, 1966.

Marriage

William Townsend Revell married twice. His first wife was Emily Hilda Russel, born in Weston Super Mare, Somerset, in England in 1891, daughter of John Roebuck Russell and his wife Emily Phillips, both British. Before being married she was a helper at Brooklands Home of Rest. They married on 3 December 1912 at Coonoor in India, and she died on 24 January 1913 in Vellore.

His second wife was Dora Marion Annear, daughter of William Powell Annear, from Cardiff, Wales, and his wife Martha E., from Devon, England. She was born in 1882 in Cardiff and was commended by assemblies there in 1912 to India as well. They married on 22 March 1916 at Kadianallur in India. She died on 23 February 1961 in Vadamalapuram, Andhra Pradesh, India, at 78 years old.
