In 1985 the congregation at Bethel Chapel, Pointe Claire had outgrown their facilities. In September of that year, two thirds, 160 persons according to Peterson, left to begin Westview Bible Church, which stands at the corner of Pierrefonds Blvd. and St. Charles in Pierrefonds.
The assembly first met at rented quarters in Dorval, a southern suburb of Montreal followed by several other locations. In 1987 a six-acre lot was purchased further west on the island in Pierrefonds. A five-hundred seat auditorium was constructed together with a full-sized gymnasium.
Joseph Cass, chairman of the elders at Bethel Chapel, Pointe Claire, resigned in order to help establish the new assembly. Other leaders included Richard Kimoff, Roy Hoffman, David Knight, Robert Reynolds, John Kelsall, Rowland Phare, Ted Cass, John Reoch and Don Liesemer.
By the turn of the century, two Sunday morning services were being conducted, one being a mixture of traditional and contemporary styles, at which up to 150 attended. The second was more contemporary with approximately 400 in attendance, including a significant number of seekers. Over two-thirds of the congregation were under 35 years of age. The Lord’s Supper was celebrated each Sunday evening and once a month on Sunday morning. The church was involved in a number of parachurch ministries such as InterVarsity, Youth for Christ, Hockey Ministries and others.
In 2005 a conservative element, including Robert Reynolds, Richard Kimoff and others, hived off to form Faith Community Bible Church. Westview Bible Church terminated its affiliation with the Christian Brethren Churches in Quebec in the spring of 2012.
