Abbott III (b. 1615 Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire, England - d. 1681 Andover, MA); '''Emigrated to New England in 1637''' on a ship called "Arbella", first settling in Roxbury, MA, then one of the first proprietors and settlers in 1646 in Andover. He and his wife Hannah were married on Dec. 12, 1646 in the First Church of Roxbury, by Rev. John Eliot, known as the "apostle to the Indians". Their second child, Joseph, died an infant and was the first recorded death in Andover. Fourth child, also named Joseph, was killed in an Indian raid.
