=History=
There was a French open brethren assembly, Eglise chrétienne Anaja, at Saint-Roch-sur-Richeliu, [[Quebec|Québec]] from 19781979-1982.
Église Eglise chrétienne Anaja likely began around 1978 as , aka Groupe évangélique Anaja, celebrated the Lord’s supper for the first time on February 4, 1979. This initiative, which had begun a result of efforts on year earlier, came from believers in fellowship at the assembly in Sorel, some 20 kilometers to the part of east, who desired a meeting closer to where all were living. Meetings were conducted in homes. The project was encouraged by commended worker [[Roland Lacombe]] who had been instrumental in beginning assemblies in La Tuque, Drummondville and Saint-Guillaume as well as that in Sorel. The group sought affiliation with the CBCQ, twenty-two persons signing the request, but for some reason this did not materialize. Nothing more is known about this the assembly which appears to have closed sometime in 1982. The name Anaja is , apparently of African-American origin and , means Kindness or Grace''The Eternal has answered''.
