[[Groupe Biblique de l'Ouest de Montreal, QC|Groupe Biblique de l'Ouest de Montréal]], Southcentral [[Quebec|Québec]], [[Canada]] was a French open brethren assembly started in 1976 as Assemblée Chrétienne de l'Ouest de Montréal1982
The Assemblée chrétienne de l'Ouest de Montréal Initially known as the Bible Fellowship, this assembly began as a house church in 1976LaSalle on the western end of Montréal.  Led by [[André Marchildon]] and [[Leslie Russell]], this It was a hive-off of under the work leadership of the Grande Maison assembly commended worker Bill Snyder who, with his wife Marian, had moved from Trois-Rivières Ouest to this area in Duvernay1980. In the early eightiesMeanwhile, folk from the nearby Lachine assembly, still quite small, were meeting with others living in the same area who were attending Groupe biblique de la Rive-sud at Longueuil on the south shore. With the blessing of the latter, a new assembly was formed in 1982.  In the meantime, another house church, the Bible Fellowship, had begun meeting together in nearby LaSalle under the leadership of commended worker [[Bill Snyder]] who, with his wife Marian, had moved to the area in 1980. Following discussions between members of the two groups, and with the encouragement of the Longueuil assembly, monthly meetings for the breaking of bread were begun in January 1982. The following year, the two groups coalescedand were meeting on a weekly basis for the Lord’s supper. When, about this timeShortly thereafter, the assembly incorporated under the name of Groupe biblique de l'Ouest de Montréal, it ceased to be biologically linked with the Grande Maison. Always meeting in rented quarters, the assembly continued to meet until shortly after 2001, following the departure of the Snyders for the United States in 2000the previous year.
